This is a Larry Norman original. Larry and Ron were contemporaries on the West Coast in the early stages of folk-rock crossing over into Christian music. Ron recorded his first album in 1969, and Larry did his in 1970. Ron covered this tune. At the time, the idea of the Rapture was very popular, although the theology of it was only 100 years old or less. The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ will return and make things right and new. We don't know when - the day or the hour- but it's good to be ready.
