Buffalo

about

From the 1968 album "Lo and Behold" released in 1969.

~On a road trip to play at Roberts Wesleyan College near Buffalo, NY, this song came to be, with guitar in the car, with brother Bill Moore driving. Winter driving, long trip, speeding ticket on the way back..(Bill, not me!) A memorable trip. The students at the college were great and we all loved being with each other.
My high school girlfriend lived in Edmonton, and i couldn't help wondering if we could make a detour after the weekend in Buffalo.

lyrics

Pullin' out of Wilmore
Big blue sky
Later caught a mirror full of sunset
In my eye
Closer, Closer
90 miles to Buffalo
Looking out on fields of snow
Wesleyville's two miles away
Will we make it to Buffalo
Today
Stormin' out of Cleveland
Movin' on
Saw a white Lake Erie
In the late day sun
~chorus~
If we keep drivin'
Up this way
We could be in Edmonton
By Monday
