People And The Power Of The Lord

about

Written during the early 70's, this song reflects the time when hippies were interested in Christianity with Jesus having long hair and talking peace and love. They were not always that welcome sadly, in churches, until later. Of course Jesus would welcome them. This song is inspired by my own experience and a particular friend's experience. We both eventually found the way.

lyrics

People, There's somethin' i gotta say to you
People, The sad thing is you know that it's true
Friends of mine are turning to the evil one
The sad thing is they're telling me that he's more fun
You really mean alot to me
And that's why i hope you'll see, see, see, yeah

People, There's still somethin' i gotta say to you
People, The looks you give my friends could turn a mountain blue

The power of the Lord will never let you down
The power of the Lord will never let you down
Think of the ways He's loved you
Think of the times we've let Him down
Think of the ways He's loved you
Think of the times we've made Him frown

Don't be so naïve
The devil has something up his sleeve
Don't be so naïve
Hold fast to what you believe

The power of the Lord will never let you down
The power of the Lord will never let you down
He is not here, He is risen
The power of the Lord will never let you down
